Doug Brotherton was recently named a 2018 Double-Goal Coach Award National Winner from Positive Coaching Alliance! A double-goal coach not only develops players on the court, but also makes his athletes better people by teaching life-lessons through sports. He makes it a point to build relationships with all of his players and works tirelessly to help them succeed.
Doug Brotherton is the Head Coach of the varsity girls basketball team. He does a phenominal job as a coach to not only teach the game of basketball, but to also help his players understand the importance of serving others. He and his team host an annual Vikings v Cancer event which has donated over $12,000 to different charities. He holds his players accountable as student-athletes and each of them understand their responsibility as students to excel in the classroom. He celebrates their achievements both on and off the court. He gets the most out of his players because they know he cares about them. He has built an outstanding girls basketball program while working at Village and his contributions to our community go well beyond the court as he mentors our student-athletes who strive to play college athletics, serving our community and supporting all of our coaches and programs as they work tirelessly to achieve success for their programs and players.
