Varsity Girls Basketball Win 6 Straight!

The Village Lady Vikings basketball team enjoyed more than Turkey and stuffing over Thanksgiving Break. The team managed a difficult schedule, to win six straight games, which improves their record to 8-1. This winning streak included four straight wins against public school opponents. The Lady Vikings beat Mayde Creek, Yates, Morton Ranch, and Bellaire.

"I am really proud of our young team. We are focused on getting better every day, and that has been happening. As a private school, it is always exciting to play against bigger public schools. Our team was up to the challenge, and we did a great job this week," Coach Brotherton said.

The Lady Vikings biggest win during that stretch was a 58-55 win over Yates High School. The Lady Vikings were led by freshman Jada M, who scored 33 points and had 17 rebounds. The game was tied with under two minutes left, and Kennedy D made a three point shot, to propel the Lady Vikings to victory. She ended with 12 points. Senior captain, Liz M, played a great game with 15 rebounds and 5 assists.

"It feels really good to go into a gym, where no one expects you to win, and be able to pull it out. For us, it is really about our culture. We built a culture and set a standard for ourselves, where we walk into a gym and never expect to lose," said junior captain Kennedy D.

The Lady Vikings basketball team is now ranked #10  in the State of Texas, for all Large Private School girls basketball teams. The next game will be at Westbury Christian, on November 28th.
