2023 SPC/TAPPS JV Track & Field Championship Meet

It was an exciting evening on Tuesday as Lutheran South Academy hosted area schools in the 2023 SPC/Tapps 5A/6A JV Championship. The Vikings performed well and were able to medal in numerous events.

For the girls, Mariana Chapa and Ella Hardy placed 1st & 2nd respectively in the 3200m, while Lauren Brown placed 2nd in the 100m. Demi Omotoso had a successful evening placing 2nd in the 200m and 1st in the Long Jump by setting a new school record, and Nina Bhakta placed 2nd in the Discus. The Girls 4x100m (Demi, Milan, Korede, Lauren) also finished 1st.

The boy's side saw Jesse Imemba and Walton Kanu finish 1-2 in the High Jump, while Imemba also placed 2nd in the 200m. Colin Nguyen took the top step in the 1600m and 3200m, and Phillip Masick placed 1st in Discus and 3rd in Shot Put.

Coach Pine said that he was "excited to see the constant improvement each athlete has displayed in their individual events".

The Vikings will be back in action on April 19th at St. Agnes Sports Complex, with field events beginning at 3 PM followed by running events at 5 PM.
