Girls Basketball Ranked #1 in the State

The Lady Vikings Basketball team had a strong showing at the Dallas Mavericks Fall Classic, finishing 3rd out of 32 teams. This included a close loss to the #1 ranked 5A public school team in the State. In the third place game, the Lady Vikings put on a dominant performance, as they beat the #2 ranked 5A public school team by 18 points. The impressive showing improved the Lady Vikings record to 8-1, and also led to the #1 ranking in the TABC Private School rankings.

This is the first time in school history that the girls basketball team has been ranked #1 in the state of Texas. It continues the upward trajectory of the program, which was ranked as the Top Private School team in Houston last season.

The Dave Campbell Texas Basketball Preview Magazine wrote, "Despite playing in the private school side, The Village School has a chance to be amongst the state's best teams." After the impressive showing in Dallas, the Lady Vikings are living up to the hype.

The team is back in action on November 25th and 26th, at the Bay Area Christian Tournament.
